Woven Capital is Toyota's growth-stage venture capital arm focused on advancing the future of mobility – how people, goods, information and energy move. We manage $1.6 billion, investing in companies that create new ways to support mobility and emerging technologies, advance the industrial value chain, and accelerate decarbonization and sustainability. Our work connects breakthrough innovators with Toyota's global platform, strengthening the company's capabilities today while creating new opportunities for tomorrow.

About the Role
At Woven Capital, our Portfolio Success team is passionate about maximizing the impact of our investments by bridging the gap between innovative startups and Toyota's global ecosystem. By collaborating closely with portfolio companies and Toyota business units, we build strategic relationships that drive mutual growth and accelerate the future of mobility.

We seek a highly motivated Portfolio Success Manager to discover strategic challenges and opportunities across Toyota and the broader Toyota group companies, identify synergies with startups, and facilitate engagements that unlock commercial value. Working at the intersection of venture capital and corporate innovation, you'll support the investment team on select opportunities while acting as a catalyst for collaboration.

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented, entrepreneurial professional with strong execution skills and the ability to own projects from inception to completion. You thrive in dynamic environments, leverage exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with diverse stakeholders, and are energized by the opportunity to turn strategic partnerships into transformative outcomes. Ultimately, you'll play a critical role in advancing open innovation across Toyota by connecting the world’s most promising innovators with the world’s most trusted automotive brand.

  • Collaborate with various Toyota business units teams to understand their current innovation efforts, strategic priorities, and areas for external collaboration, including supporting business development functions as needed.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, analyze industry trends, perform competitive analysis, and synthesize stakeholder insights to inform investment decisions, advise Toyota teams, and portfolio company strategies.
  • Identify and present relevant startup investment opportunities to Toyota business units, highlighting potential synergies, and value creation, and pilot opportunities.
  • Engage subject matter experts within Toyota to gather feedback on presented opportunities, foster discussions, and identify potential partnerships and pilots.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) of portfolio companies, monitor progress toward strategic goals, and report findings to both the portfolio companies and internal stakeholders.
  • Own and execute projects end-to-end, demonstrating strong initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, corporate development, or management consulting, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and strategic judgment. Prior experience in venture capital or high-growth startups is a plus.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the startup lifecycle and the challenges faced by early and growth-stage companies.
  • Strong analytical abilities, including market research, financial modeling, competitive analysis and the capacity to synthesize complex information into actionable insights and reports.
