About the Role

This position is responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care at West Virginia University Hospitals through involvement in direct patient care, operational, education and administrative activities, and assumes a leadership role in the profession of pharmacy.

Pharmacists in this role will complete the State of WV Credentialing Form application in order to qualify to bill for services.

Responsibilities

In this role, the pharmacy specialist will work collaboratively alongside pulmonology providers to optimize medication management, support patient care, and enhance clinic workflows. 

The position offers the opportunity to establish pharmacy presence in the clinic through a collaborative practice agreement (CPA), providing direct patient care, medication education, and chronic disease management to patients with diagnoses including but not limited to COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, and interstitial lung disease. In addition to patient care, this pharmacist specialist will help precept and mentor student and resident learners. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing program while shaping the role of pharmacy within a specialty ambulatory setting.
