We are seeking a Senior Manager, Sales to drive commercial growth across our environmental commodities business, based in London. This role will focus on originating new business opportunities, building and expanding strategic client relationships, and delivering market-led solutions across environmental products such as carbon markets, renewable energy certificates, and related sustainability offerings.
Responsibilities

Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow revenue across environmental commodities markets, including carbon credits, renewable energy certificates, guarantees of origin, and related sustainability products.

Identify, engage, and win new clients across corporate, industrial, financial, and intermediary segments.

Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with clients by understanding their decarbonisation goals, compliance needs, and commercial objectives.

Manage and maintain client accounts while actively driving liquidity generation across Xpansiv’s marketplace platforms.

Lead client outreach efforts, including prospecting, meetings, presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations.

Partner closely with internal trading, market analysis, and operations teams to deliver tailored client solutions and ensure seamless execution.

Track market developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in environmental commodities to identify new growth opportunities and advise clients effectively.

Represent the business externally at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen market presence and expand the company’s network.

Manage the full sales cycle from origination through onboarding and ongoing account management.

Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, client activity records, and revenue forecasts.

Contribute to broader commercial strategy, including market expansion plans, product development ideas, and client segmentation priorities.
Requirements

Significant experience in business development, sales, or commercial relationship management within commodities, energy, environmental markets, or a closely related sector.

Strong understanding of environmental commodities, including carbon markets, renewable energy certificates, emissions products, or broader energy transition solutions.

Demonstrated success in developing client relationships, originating new business, and closing commercial deals.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate market insight into actionable business opportunities.

Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, market-driven environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Environmental Markets, Sustainability, or a related discipline preferred.

Knowledge of European and UK environmental market frameworks and relevant regulatory developments.

Location
This role is based in London and will require regular engagement with clients, partners, and market participants across the UK and wider European market. The role will also work closely with teams across Europe, the US, and APAC, reflecting the cross-border nature of the business. Some travel may be required based on business needs.
