YMCA Sterling Senior Group Leader

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is one of the largest charities in the DC area. The Y serves as an anchor in the community offering programs and services encompassing youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.   Location: YMCA (Loudoun County locations)Compensation: $15.50 per hourSchedule: Part-Time | Afternoon/Evening Hours | School Year   We are looking for passionate and dependable Senior Group Leaders to join our School Age program at the YMCA at Sterling. This role is focused on creating a positive environment for early learners while supporting and guiding other staff. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise engaging activities for students age 3 – 10yrs old Design developmentally appropriate lesson plans and routines Provide mentorship and support to Group Leaders Communicate clearly with families and site leadership Monitor safety, attendance, and behavior Build strong, trusting relationships with children Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience with children ages 3–6 in a licensed or educational setting High school diploma or GED required; CDA or early childhood coursework strongly preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience fostering an environment for children of all abilities is valued.   Schedule: Monday-Friday  Before Care 6:30am-8:00am and or  After Care 2:30pm-6:30pm  We offer the following benefits:  Competitive compensation  Free Y membership 403(b) savings plan Exciting and collaborative work environment The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is an equal opportunity employer and values a range of perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds.
