About Us

1to1 Rehab is a nationally accredited, client‑focused therapy service provider recognized for excellence in Speech‑Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Nutritional Services. We support clients across homes, schools, long‑term care facilities, and community settings throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

We are intentional about who we partner with. This role is not about filling a caseload — it’s about finding the right clinician fit. Our Communicative Disorders Assistants value independence, flexibility, and high‑quality adult rehabilitation, while still having access to strong clinical and administrative support.

You’ll practice under the umbrella of a well‑established, accredited organization, while maintaining autonomy in your day‑to‑day community‑based work.

Caseload Overview

We are currently recruiting for two Communicative Disorders Assistants to support a paediatric community caseload funded through Children's Treatment Network. Services are delivered in publicly funded schools.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Accept referrals that align with your availability, geography, and clinical interests
  • Build a caseload at a pace that works for you

Why Communicative Disorders Assistants Choose 1to1 Rehab

Our independent contractor model is intentionally designed for CDAs who want true flexibility without isolation.

  • Control over caseload and schedule — accept or decline referrals based on fit and capacity
  • Flexible scheduling that supports work–life balance, family commitments, or other clinical work
  • Paediatric‑focused clinical support and mentorship, including consultation support for complex cases
  • Clear clinical escalation pathways and risk support — you’re not on your own when complexity arises
  • Strong administrative support, including scheduling, billing, and documentation assistance
  • Mobile‑friendly documentation systems, significantly reducing after‑hours paperwork
  • A sense of community and connection, even while working independently in the community

Many clinicians tell us they value the independence of contracting — but stay with 1to1 because independent doesn’t mean isolated here.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting children with challenges in speech sound production, fluency, and interactive communication
  • Actively engaging children and caregivers to address communication goals
  • Providing fun intervention and innovative therapy activities and games to target speech goals based on the child’s interests and abilities
  • Using child-centered fun online therapy materials for therapy and home programming activities
  • Actively engaging in child/family teaching and collaborating with family and child’s team
  • Providing evidence-based therapy intervention, tracking progress
  • Supporting the recommendations made by supervising SLP regarding speech and language programming, accommodations, resources, and modifications for children and their families

Qualifications

  • Communicative Disorders Assistant Certificate or Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children of all ages
  • Ability to build strong relationships with families and provide support, feedback, and coaching
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Experience providing therapy in person and virtually
  • Have access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license
  • Proof of professional liability insurance
  • Completion of a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check

Who This Role Is Well‑Suited For

This role is ideal for Communicative Disorders Assistants who:

  • Want flexible, referral‑based work alongside other professional commitments
  • Value clinical autonomy while still appreciating access to mentorship and support
  • Enjoy community practice and functional, meaningful rehabilitation
  • Want flexibility that’s real — not just promised
