9fin is the AI platform powering global debt markets — the world’s largest asset class at over $145 trillion.

Debt markets are vast, global, and mission-critical, yet still run on fragmented data, PDFs, and manual workflows. 9fin replaces this broken infrastructure with a single platform that centralises proprietary credit data, deep analysis, and high-value workflows across global markets.

Today, 9fin powers teams at 300+ blue-chip institutions worldwide, including global banks, asset managers, private equity firms, law firms, and advisors. The business is scaling at exceptional speed, with rapid expansion in the US and best-in-class retention driven by deep workflow adoption.

We’re at a defining inflection point. With proven product-market fit and strong, global market pull, 9fin is accelerating toward becoming the category-defining platform for debt markets worldwide.

This is a pivotal hire for the 9fin finance function. As we grow, two things become equally urgent: getting our systems foundations right, and moving fast on automation and AI. This role owns both.

This is not a standard finance hire. You'll work directly alongside the VP Finance as the sole finance systems and operations resource — no team to manage, at least not initially. You won't be inheriting nothing — there are processes in place — but we are open to approach and change as we build a best-practice finance suite designed for the scale 9fin is heading toward, rather than retrofitting one we already have.

As Finance Systems Lead, you will own the finance systems landscape end-to-end. That means leading our ERP migration from requirements through to go-live, maintaining and evolving the post-migration stack, acting as the finance superuser for the new ERP and owner of the finance data model, and (just as importantly) acting as the function's champion for AI and automation. You will identify, build, and embed tools and workflows that eliminate manual effort, sharpen our data quality, and raise the performance ceiling of a lean, high-output finance team.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You will report directly to the VP Finance and work closely with FP&A, Control, Revenue Operations, and our engineering and data teams.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Lead the ERP migration end-to-end — from requirements gathering and vendor selection (in partnership with finance leadership) through to implementation, data migration, and go-live.

  • Define the functional scope of the new system, working with stakeholders across finance, revenue operations, and engineering to capture requirements and translate them into a clear implementation brief.

  • Own the vendor relationship during implementation, managing timelines, resolving issues, and ensuring the delivered solution meets 9fin's needs.

  • Design and execute a robust testing and sign-off process, including UAT, data validation, and cutover planning.

  • Train and support the finance team through the transition, ensuring strong adoption and minimal disruption to BAU processes.

This is a core part of the role — not a nice-to-have. We want someone who is genuinely excited about what AI and automation can do for a finance function, and who will drive adoption with the same energy and rigour as the ERP migration.

  • Own the finance function's automation agenda: identify, prioritise, and deliver automation opportunities across month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, forecasting and intercompany processes.

  • Build and maintain automated workflows using tools such as Make, Zapier, or equivalent — reducing manual effort, improving accuracy, and tightening controls.

  • Actively embed AI-powered tools into finance operations: document extraction, anomaly detection, AI-assisted analysis, automated reporting, and beyond. Bring concrete examples of where you have driven efficiency through AI.

  • Act as the internal evangelist for AI and automation across the finance team — upskilling colleagues, sharing new tools and techniques, and building a culture where the team is always looking for a smarter way to work.

  • Stay close to the fast-moving AI tooling landscape and bring relevant innovations back to the function proactively.

  • Administer and continuously optimise the post-migration finance tech stack — covering ERP, billing, expense management, and reporting tooling.

  • Build and maintain integrations between the ERP, CRM, and data warehouse, ensuring reliable and accurate data flows across the business.

  • Act as internal product owner for finance tooling — managing vendor relationships, triaging issues, and iterating on systems as the business evolves.

  • Own data quality and integrity across finance systems, with clear documentation of data flows, field mappings, and integration logic.

  • Partner with the Control team on tax — setting up and maintaining tax routes and rules within the ERP and downstream systems.

  • Partner with Revenue Operations and engineering to ensure the finance stack is tightly integrated with the broader data infrastructure.

  • Act as the finance superuser for Omni owning the finance data model end-to-end.

  • Partner with the VP Finance and FP&A team to evaluate, implement, and iterate on FP&A and forecasting processes and future tooling options — ensuring the function is set up to support planning, scenario modelling, and board-level reporting.

  • Own the integration between FP&A tools and the broader finance and data stack, ensuring forecasting models are fed with clean, timely data from source systems.

  • Build and shape reports alongside finance and technology teams, supporting the build-out of reporting infrastructure for management accounts, KPI dashboards, and investor-facing outputs.

  • Support FP&A through month-end close with system insight, troubleshooting, and hands-on support — helping the team get to the right numbers, faster.

  • Assess specialist FP&A platforms as the business scales, building the business case for investment where appropriate.

  • Develop and maintain a systems roadmap for the finance function, prioritising initiatives that support 9fin's growth and operational maturity.

  • Establish and enforce data governance standards across finance systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and auditability.

  • Ensure master data controls are clear, compliant, and working as intended across the finance stack.

  • Assess and onboard new tooling as the function's needs evolve, conducting structured evaluations and building the business case for investment.

  • Support internal and external audit processes, providing system documentation, data extracts, and control evidence as required.

  • Work closely with the VP Finance and broader finance team to understand reporting needs and translate them into system and data solutions.

  • Partner with Revenue Operations, engineering, and data teams to ensure finance systems are well-integrated and aligned with wider data infrastructure.

  • Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to finance team members using the systems you own.

This role will be a strong fit if you:

  • Have direct experience with at least one next-generation, AI-native ERP platform, or experience building AI onto NetSuite.

  • Have an AI-native working style. You use AI tools day-to-day to accelerate reconciliations, clean data, and turn SOPs into repeatable workflows — not just in theory.

  • Are comfortable working directly alongside engineering and data teams. You can hold your own in a technical conversation.

  • Bring a startup or scale-up background. You've operated without a full support function, and you prefer it that way.

  • Have a strong, practical understanding of how data flows across finance systems — including chart of accounts design, integration architecture, and reporting data models.

  • Bring hands-on experience with automation tooling such as Make, Zapier, or similar platforms, and can point to concrete examples of processes you have automated.

  • Have genuine interest in and practical exposure to AI in a finance context — whether in document processing, anomaly detection, reporting, or workflow automation. We want someone who is actively experimenting, not just aware.

  • Have worked in a SaaS or high-growth technology business, and understand the commercial and operational dynamics that shape finance requirements in these environments.

  • Are able to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical solutions without constant direction.

  • Communicate clearly and credibly with both finance and technical stakeholders — as comfortable discussing system architecture with an engineer as presenting a control framework to an auditor.

  • Are intellectually curious, self-motivated, and genuinely excited about building a finance function that operates ahead of the curve on tooling and automation.

Nice to Have

~1 min read
  • Are a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with direct experience leading or playing a senior role in an ERP implementation or migration.

  • Have experience with or a view on FP&A and forecasting tooling — ideally having evaluated or implemented a dedicated planning platform.

At 9fin we are dedicated to building and promoting a fair and inclusive workplace where everyone can reach their full potential and truly belong. We recognize that building diverse teams enables a more creative and productive environment. If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t perfectly align with the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might just be who we’re looking for — either for this role, or perhaps another.
