Maintenance Lead

The Maintenance Lead Mechanic will oversee daily maintenance operations and ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all plant equipment and machinery. This hands-on leadership role is essential in supporting production operations, minimizing downtime, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and preventive maintenance.

• →Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of maintenance mechanics and electricians.
• →Perform, assign, and oversee preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on facility and production equipment.
• →Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues quickly and accurately to minimize production downtime.
• →Ensure proper documentation of maintenance work, including work orders, logs, and equipment history.
• →Coordinate with production supervisors, engineers, and safety personnel to schedule maintenance tasks during planned downtime.
• →Train and mentor maintenance team members; assist with onboarding new staff.
• →Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards; actively promote and enforce safe work practices.
• →Manage spare parts inventory and work with procurement to ensure critical components are available.
• →Assist with capital projects, equipment upgrades, and machinery installations as needed.
• →Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track tasks and performance metrics.
• →Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis of equipment failures.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a noisy and physically demanding industrial environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.

• High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in mechanical systems preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in an aluminum mill or heavy manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead mechanic role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with industrial safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Proficient with CMMS software and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, etc.).

• Associate degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles.
• OSHA 30 certification.

• Full-time position with possible on-call availability for emergencies.
• Rotating shifts may be required, including weekends and holidays.
