This position is based at our Mississauga office within the Core Lab division and requires on‑site presence four days per week, with the option to work remotely one day.  We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.  As the Strategic Pricing Specialist, you’ll have the chance to help with the architect of our profitability strategy, responsible for two core areas: developing forward-thinking pricing strategies and leading cross-functional margin improvement programs. This influential role requires a sharp analytical mind, strategic vision, and the ability to partner effectively across teams to deliver sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for RFPs, pricing, quote requests, and provide guidance and strategy to the commercial teams on pricing strategy.

  • Conduct market, competitive, and customer analyses to inform future pricing decisions and customer-focused deal strategies.

  • Monitors pricing outcomes to track performance and price integrity.

  • Manage cross-functional margin improvement projects from design through delivery, ensuring accountability, accuracy, and KPI tracking.

  • Provide support and maintenance for Abbott’s quoting and price management systems and tools.

  • Foster and champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by seeking opportunities to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness of the Contracts and Pricing team. Lead the adoption of new tools, processes, and best practices that enable streamlining and automation of team processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA is preferred.

  • Three to five years of experience in pricing, business/data analytics, and/or financial modelling, preferably, within a healthcare, hospital, or laboratory diagnostics setting.

  • Strong understanding of P&L and how pricing and contract terms impact deal profitability.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop strategic solutions to potential issues/challenges.

  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a keen focus on quality, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience working within the hospital, medical, or diagnostics industry.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Python is a strong asset.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. French language competency is not required but preferred.

  • Knowledge of Abbott Core Lab Diagnostics (CRLB) product offerings is a strong asset.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $68,250.00 to $100,100.00 CAD. The salary range provided applies to Canada only and does not apply to any other locations outside of Canada.
