Job Summary
Responsible for governance and control management related activities in accordance with Regulatory and Group requirements. Providing first-line support in enabling the effective implementation of risk and compliance frameworks within business. Build and maintain meaningful relationships with internal stakeholders, specifically business, risk and compliance counterparts to execute on own deliverables. Management of related activities and reporting to management for relevant forums and committees within agreed timelines.- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in compliance with regulatory requirements Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Operational Risk frameworks and related policies and standards.
- Support the business in the implementation and embedment of Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), including those applicable for Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), Critical Process Assessments (CPAs), Management Control Approach (MCA), Issue Management, Fraud Management, Combined Assurance, Risk Events, Key Indicators, as well as Dispensations Waivers and Breaches (DWBs) as well as Management Control Approach (MCA).
- Monitor, measure, prepare and deliver on applicable reports; raising concerns and challenges, escalating associated risks and any material issues identified.
- Support with the identification, assessment and documentation of key risks and controls, control gaps and associated remedial actions.
- Support the team in governance-related matters, providing administrative support for Committee meetings including documenting minutes and tracking of meeting action items and initiatives where required.
- Support with the identification, assessment and documentation of key risks controls and control gaps. Track and manage remedial actions ensuring timely closure thereof.
Reporting and Analysis
- Support the management reporting of all key concerns as appropriate through monthly and quarterly risk committees, forums, and governance committees.
- Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and validity of reporting through the monitoring of data quality on the Operational Risk Management System (ORMS).
- Continuous engagement with business stakeholders and maintain effective follow-up and tracking of the remediation of issues identified.
- Prepare and maintain risk and compliance management information, dashboards, trackers and reports for management and governance forums.
- Analyse risk data, trends, incidents, themes and emerging issues to support proactive risk management and escalation.
- Assist in the preparation of governance packs, committee submissions, risk profile updates and other business reporting requirements.
- Support the monitoring of risk appetite measures, key risk indicators and control performance.
- Provide administrative and technical support for governance forums, including agenda preparation, minutes, action logs and follow-up of meeting outcomes.
- Engage with business stakeholders, Risk, Compliance and other control functions to support the effective implementation of policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with audit, assurance and regulatory engagements by coordinating evidence, tracking findings and supporting management responses.
- Support awareness, communication and training initiatives relating to risk and compliance processes.
Education and Experience Required
- Diplomas: Risk Management / Audit / Law / Commerce / Management Studies (Required)
- Experience in a Financial Institution in an investment and/or stockbroking business environment preferred.
- Experience in a Risk Environment preferred
- Proficiency in ORMS system preferred.
