OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
The Clinical Team Leader provides leadership, clinical supervision, and direct care within The Guidance Center of Westchester’s school-based programs. This role supports both the delivery of high-quality mental health and addiction services to youth and families, and the professional development of a clinical team. The Clinical Team Leader maintains a clinical caseload, oversees day-to-day operations of service delivery sites, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a trauma-informed, strength-based, and inclusive culture of care.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Clinical Care
Deliver comprehensive diagnostic assessments and individualized, trauma-informed treatment interventions.
Provide individual, family, and group therapy to children and adolescents within school-based and outpatient settings.
Maintain a caseload and ensure care coordination, including crisis intervention and resource linkage.
Participate in psychiatric care planning in collaboration with medical providers.
Utilize both in-person and telehealth modalities, creatively engaging clients in their care.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation within electronic medical records (e.g., myEvolv, CPSE Portal).
Supervision & Leadership
Provide weekly clinical supervision to social workers, counselors, and interns.
Monitor and review all documentation for regulatory compliance, clinical appropriateness, and billing requirements.
Oversee performance evaluations, supervision logs, timesheets, and scheduling to ensure optimal team operations.
Support supervisees in managing high-risk cases and navigating mandated reporting protocols.
Participate in and facilitate staff development, including training on evidence-based practices.

Administrative Oversight
Serve as liaison with host schools and community partners to support service delivery and program expansion.
Conduct candidate interviews and assist with hiring decisions in collaboration with HR.
Complete chart audits and assist in internal and external audits (OMH, DOE, insurers).
Attend and represent the organization in interagency meetings and special projects.
Contribute to program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.

Commitment to trauma-informed, student-centered, and strengths-based practices
Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing student and school needs
Knowledge of child and adolescent development and behavioral health concerns
Ability to supervise, mentor, and support clinical staff and interns
Proficiency with electronic health records and required reporting systems
Commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field
Current state licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) required; clinical licensure preferred
Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and families
Prior experience working in school-based or community mental health settings preferred
Experience conducting psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and individual/group/family therapy
Experience with crisis assessment, suicide risk assessment, and behavioral intervention
Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and external service providers
Knowledge of special education processes, IEPs, and school systems preferred
Experience implementing evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care approaches
Training in crisis prevention/intervention, restorative practices, or behavioral management preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, since travel between school sites is required
