The Security Screening Support Manager assists the security contract manager with the day-to-day operational oversight of ACTS Aviation Security's Worker Screening Program at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. This role ensures the consistent delivery of compliant, high-quality worker screening services in accordance with TSA-approved Airport Security Programs (ASPs), applicable Security Directives, and all federal regulations under 49 CFR Parts 1540, 1542, and 1544. The Manager leads a team of security personnel, maintains strong client relationships, and drives a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

 

Responsibilities

•  Direct and supervise daily screening support operations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and TSA regulatory standards.

•  Conduct regular site walk-throughs, equipment checks, and procedural audits to assess operational effectiveness.

•  Perform routine inspection and serviceability checks of all screening equipment; coordinate maintenance or repair requests and maintain accurate equipment logs.

•  Ensure all screening operations conform to the TSA-approved ASP, applicable Security Directives, and Emergency Amendments.

•  Oversee completion and accuracy of regulatory reporting, including Regulatory Government Interaction (RGI) documentation and internal compliance logs.

•  Plan and conduct internal operational audits of screening activities; document findings, assign corrective actions, and track closure to completion.

•  Maintain current knowledge of TSA Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) and policy updates affecting screening operations.

•  Manage the full onboarding lifecycle for new screeners, including induction, site orientation, and compliance documentation prior to deployment.

•  Deliver and oversee On-the-Job Training (OJT) for all new screeners, ensuring competency standards are met before independent assignment.

•  Ensure all security personnel maintain current certifications and complete recurrent training in accordance with approved training programs.

•  Identify training gaps and coordinate targeted refresher training and competency assessments in collaboration with the training department.

•  Foster a team environment focused on insider threat awareness, professional standards, and continuous performance improvement.

•  Administer performance reviews, corrective action plans, and recognition programs for direct reports.

•  Prepare timely and accurate incident reports; ensure submission deadlines are met in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.

•  Support internal and external audits, including TSA compliance inspections; implement findings and track corrective action closure.

•  Support the Contract Manager in the delivery of contractual obligations, including performance reporting, client correspondence, and service-level monitoring.

•  Contribute to contract compliance reporting and support business development activities as directed.

Requirements

•  Minimum 3 years' experience in aviation security, airport operations, or a regulated security environment.

  • Prior experience with passenger or employee screening in a checkpoint environment.
  • Familiarity with a range of passenger or employee screening technology – x-ray, ETD, body scanners, metal detectors etc.

•  Demonstrated supervisory or management experience in a compliance-driven operational setting.

•  Working knowledge of TSA regulations and airport security program requirements.

•  Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear regulatory and operational documentation.

•  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard operational reporting tools.

•  Must successfully complete TSA-required background investigation and maintain active SIDA badge at CLT.

•  Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident eligible for security clearance.

•  Role operates in an active airport environment, including secure areas, terminals, ramps, and checkpoint zones.

•  Must be able to stand, walk, and be on feet for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.

•  Availability required to respond to operational emergencies and work non-standard hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

•  Travel to other ACTS network locations or client meetings may be required periodically.
