JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Clinton, NC 28328 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: Jun 26, 2026 – Jul 01, 2026 Shift Schedule: 24-hour call (7a – 7a) Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 20 Minutes Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Travel and lodging provided (capped at $500), malpractice insurance covered by agency SPECIFIC SHIFTS TO FILL Jun 26, 2026 (7a) – Jul 01, 2026 (7a) PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: Varies Case Mix: Wrist, ankle, hip fractures, closed reductions, I&D, long bone trauma stabilized and transferred FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: MediTech PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: Arthroscopy Total Joint replacement (Hip, Knee, Other (excludes hip and knee)) Joint revision or repair (Shoulder, Hip, Knee, Other (excludes shoulder, hip, and knee)) Hand (Tendon release/repair, Peripheral nerve surgery) W/ Instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar) W/O Instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar) Percutaneous disc surgery JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified Licenses: Licensed in NC DEA: NC DEA required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, ABLS Other Qualifications: Must be credentialed with Medicaid/Medicare and enrolled with PECOS; vaccinated; NPI number required; must reside within 20 minutes of hospital while on call; gratis hours capped at 4 Duties & Responsibilities Provide 24-hour on-call orthopedic surgery coverage, responding to consults, emergency department visits, and surgical cases. Perform closed reductions, wound I&D, and fracture surgeries (wrist, ankle, hip). Stabilize and transfer long bone trauma cases as needed. Ensure prompt response within 20 minutes while on call. Document all care in Meditech EMR and adhere to gratis hours policy (up to 4 gratis hours per day).
