Advanced Technology & Research Corporation (www.atrcorp.com) is seeking to fill the following full-time permanent position. Based in Maryland and incorporated in 1973, ATR is an equal-opportunity engineering company with a solid reputation in various engineering disciplines for the government and Fortune 500 commercial customers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform quality assembly of electro-mechanical machinery in a clean, air conditioned work environment.  Work with engineers to understand drawings to assemble mechanical devices, install sensors and install low voltage wiring.

  • Assemble and wire electrical control cabinets and machinery
  • Learn ATR legacy machines and perform upgrades and refurbishment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+  years working experience with mechanical assembly and repair
  • Basic understanding of electrical wiring
  • Proficient with mechanical and electrical hand tools
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to identify common parts and fasteners.
  • Ability to read measuring devices to determine correct assembly positions.
  • Demonstrated quality workmanship
  • Specialized technical training a plus
  • Good English communication skills
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficient with basic mechanical and electrical hand tools
  • Ability to read drawings and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to identify common parts, fasteners, and electrical components
  • Ability to read measuring devices to determine correct assembly positions.
  • Basic proficiency metalworking machines and welding equipment A PLUS
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems A PLUS
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
