Terms: 12-month Full-time Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation 

Sign-on Eligibility:

  • One (1) year of applicable experience

  • Internal Candidates and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible 

Relocation Eligibility:

  • Must live 50 miles outside of campus address

  • Rehires that are less than 12 months from separation date are not eligible

  • AdventHealth Orlando Cardiovascular Surgery has 7 CVOR’s and one hybrid OR, and performs a full array of cardiovascular surgeries including bypass, valve replacement/repair, TAVR, heart transplant, lung transplant, multiorgan transplant, VAD insertions, impella transplant, ECMO and pediatric congenitial heart procedures.

  • The thoracic line has 3 OR’s, including one equipped with a Davinci XI robot, and performs a variety of lung esophageal, and chest procedures including HIOC (heated intraoperative chemotherapy) cases for mesothelioma.

  • We performed over 3,600 Cardiovascular and thoracic specific surgeries last year. Our Cardiovascular program is recognized as an ELSO Center of excellence for both adults and pediatrics, has a Nationally accredited TAVR program, and our heart transplant team is ranked 5th in the nation.

  • Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements [Required]

  • Ability to lead the employees of their specialty area in the delivery of patient care [Required]

  • Ability to lead performance improvement initiatives on the assigned unit [Required]

  • Excellent clinical practice knowledge and ability to apply this knowledge to the unit setting [Required]

  • Ability to act as a role model for professionalism on the assigned unit [Required]

  • Basic skills related to aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation [Required]

  • Ability to handle challenging situations and personalities [Preferred]

  • Motivational and leadership skills [Preferred]

  • Technical/Vocational School [Required]

  • Graduate from school of Surgical Technology, LPN program, RN program or related military training program

  • 2+ years of experience in the clinical setting related to area of specialty [Required]

  • 3+ years of experience in a healthcare leadership/management role [Preferred]

  • 3+ years’ experience in a healthcare leadership/management role [Preferred]

  • Experience in current performance improvement frameworks and methodologies [Preferred]

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Required] OR State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC) [Required]
