• Evaluates documentation for missing data elements.

• Abstracts clinical and demographic data from medical records for trauma patients.

• Reviews patient records for audit filters and performance indicators.

• Maintains productivity standards in data management tasks.

• Reconciles data as new information becomes available.

• Provides input on policies and standards related to trauma data management.

• Conducts E coding, ICD, and AIS coding for trauma patient records.

• Monitors and reports data trends in trauma care.

• Reviews the Trauma Quality Improvement Program for registry activities.

• Mentors registry staff in data management practices.

• Evaluates Trauma Service performance using established audit filters.

• Compiles reports for regulatory agencies and committees.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Strong organizational skills [Required]

• Strong written and oral communication skills [Required]

• Experience in the use of information technology including Microsoft Office software, Excel and PowerPoint [Required]

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

• Associate [Preferred]

• N/A

• Healthcare or coding experience [Preferred]

• Registrar Course from the American Trauma Society [Preferred]

• Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) [Preferred]

• Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) [Preferred]
