Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Pre-Registrar for Full-time day!
A Pre-Registrar is the first line of quality service to our patients and guests. This position greets customers and provides the highest level of customer service possible. This position is responsible for registering patients, scheduling, benefit verification, scanning, faxing authorizations and referrals.
*All hours subject to change upon departmental needs with previous notification*
As a Pre-Registrar, you will:
- Provide timely and accurate registrations and scheduling
- Complete benefit verification
- Provide patient education (regarding benefits)
- Scan, fax and address appropriate authorizations and referrals for services
- Review orders for completeness
- Communicate appointments to patients, physicians and others as required
- Act as a liaison to facilitate communications between physicians, patients/families, PAT, OR, patient access, patient accounts, payors and outside customers
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 yrs. work experience working in a patient access fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Insurance Verification Experience
- Healthcare Scheduling Experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
- Experience working with managed care health plans
- Excellent patient registration skills
- Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette required
- Solid knowledge of medical terminology
- Outstanding customer service abilities
- Must be able to multi-task
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills; internet, typing, data entry
