Cost modeling engineer is part of Predictive Cost Modeling team, under Agilent One Procurement Organization. Primary functions are to develop cost models & simulate manufacturing should-cost and perform supply-market intelligence analytics, to provide value-add solutions in strategic cost management.

Responsibilities

→Simulate should-cost of manufactured parts/assemblies to enable cost savings/optimization initiatives and sourcing strategies.
→Apply cost analysis to identify gaps/opportunities and propose solutions to drive cost negotiation & cost optimization.
→Develop and deploy cost modeling tools on manufacturing process for a range of categories/commodities.
→Conduct supply-market data research to provide market intelligence/insights to support Procurement strategies & competitive advantage.
→Harness supply-market intelligence and cost data to run analytics on price trend & cost impact, generating actionable insights for proactive actions/forward-looking strategic planning.
→Collaborate with Category Management in tactical negotiations & strategies, and with R&D/Manufacturing/Suppliers in VAVE/NPI/DFX in design & process cost optimization.
→Categories/Commodities in-scope: Machined components, Sheet metal, Plastic molding, Flow components, Optical parts, Laboratory Glassware and Consumables.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree or above in Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following fields - Manufacturing engineer, Costing engineer, Procurement/Material engineer, Supplier development engineer, Design engineer, Supply-market/Business intelligence analyst.
Technical background/expertise in manufacturing process & technology and good understanding on the cost profile/structure in at least one or more of the categories/commodities: Machined components, Sheet metal, Plastic molding, Flow components, Optical parts, Laboratory Glassware and Consumables.
Experience in CAD software.
Effective MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Statistical, Data analytics and Digitalization skills are a plus.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.
