Profile Paint Operator - Day Shift

The Paint Operator is responsible for the preparation, application, and quality control of paint for Profile. This role ensures color accuracy, coating consistency, proper curing/drying, and safe operation of all related equipment. The Paint Operator is also responsible for training team members on proper paint processes, standards, and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Mix paints according to approved formulas.
Match colors accurately to production standards.
Adjust viscosity and maintain consistency and color.
Operate and monitor paint application systems.
Ensure even coating coverage and finish quality.
Monitor curing/drying systems (heaters, ovens, UV if applicable)
Perform inspections for color, adhesion, and finish.
Maintain sample boards and standards.
Operate conveyors, pumps, and mixing systems safely.
Perform cleaning and basic maintenance.
Document process parameters and batch data.
Train new and existing employees on proper paint procedures.
Demonstrate correct equipment operation and safety practices.
Adherence to SOPs.
Follow all plant safety policies and procedures
Use required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
Handle chemicals according to SDS guidelines
Maintain a clean and organized work area (6S)
Report unsafe conditions immediately
Ability to follow detailed work instructions, material formulations, and batch processes
Basic math and measurement skills
Experience operating industrial processing
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
Ability to pass a color matching test.
Ability to train and mentor others
Help in other areas as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Manufacturing or Profile Paint experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and color recognition.
Physical Requirements
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and repetitive movement
Occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), gloves, steel toe
boots, ear plugs, safety glasses and any task specific PPE as required.
Exposure to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
Ability to work in high-noise environments. Must wear ear plugs at all time on the production floor.
Work Environment
This position operates in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to raw
material powders, heavy machinery, and elevated noise levels. The facility is not climate
controlled and may experience hot temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in
the winter. Employees are expected to adhere to all safety and housekeeping standards.
