Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity through its Indonesia entity, PT AHK Testing Indonesia, who is looking for a Technical Manager - Laboratory to join our team. PT AHK Testing Indonesia provides independent analysis and inspection services to the metals, minerals, and solid fuels industries. We have a well-earned reputation for our knowledge and professionalism in all aspects of weighing, sampling, and analysis.

The Technical Manager - Laboratory is responsible for managing and maintaining laboratory technical methodologies, technical instructions, and laboratory capability development programs across our Metals & Minerals, Energy, and Agriculture business sectors. This role focuses on ensuring effective technical support, method standardization, analytical reliability, and technical compliance oversight across all laboratory activities. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE 

Essential 

• Strong technical understanding of ISO 17025 compliance and Laboratory QA/QC frameworks.
• Deep expertise in analytical methods, method validation, and method verification processes.
• Robust knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, calibration systems, and industry standards including ASTM, JIS, SNI, and GAFTA/FOSFA.
• Advanced capabilities in analytical troubleshooting, technical investigations, technical risk assessments, and CAPA compliance systems.
• Strong leadership, people management, cross-functional coordination, and presentation skills.
• Sharp analytical thinking and technical coaching/mentoring capabilities.
• Proven ability to operate effectively within multicultural and multi-business environments.
• Professional fluency in English backed by strong technical reporting abilities.

Required Work Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in laboratory testing, laboratory technical support, laboratory quality systems, or analytical technical functions.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating in a direct managerial or technical leadership position.
• Deep industry exposure within minerals, coal, coke, energy, agriculture, or inspection services.
• Prior background handling multi-site and multi-business operations is highly preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Science, or a related laboratory/scientific discipline.
• A Master's Degree in a matching field is considered a distinct advantage.
