Account Risk Engineering supervisor

You will tap into your strong analytical skills, utilize internal and external guidelines, and leading-edge tools and methodologies to develop your view of an accounts risk profile. • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics  
• Minimum fifteen (15) years of highly protected risk, specialized industry and/or boiler and machinery field experience 
• Knowledge of a wide range of light to high hazard occupancies and considered a subject matter expert in some
• Strong communicator (both oral and written)  
• Position is expected to travel and attend meetings at various office, field, and construction sites 

• →Manage and lead a team of account engineers within the zone who are responsible for:
  • →Completing account reviews
  • →Implement the Client Service Process
  • →Managing risk improvements
• →Perform property loss prevention reviews of commercial property accounts
• →Manage training and personnel development within your team and establish and maintain a training and develop plan
• →Work closely with underwriting to obtain and maintain clients
• →Ensure your team has the appropriate knowledge and skillsets to be effective in delivering services to underwriting and our clients
• →Partner with Client Service Teams to enhance client relationships and promote engineering capabilities.
• →Mentor and train lesser experienced staff
• →Implement the quality control of account reviews completed by your team of account engineers
• →Provide assistance to the zonal engineering manager
• →Assist with/Lead regional or global projects as directed by the zonal engineering manager
• →Provide engineering data system support/guidance and stay abreast of system related issues within region
• →Coordinate engineering data system UAT (user acceptance testing) within region
• →Participate in and lead zonal audits

• Highly motivated and works well without close supervision.
• The individual must be able to make decisions with and without established guidelines and to provide technical support to underwriters and clients.   
• Ability to work closely with various Account Teams including Account Engineers and Underwriters 
• Ability to complete assignments on-time. 

• Professional Engineer or Certified Fire Protection Specialist Designation (desired but not required). 
• Ability to perform inspections of buildings and other structures, both visually and with instruments 
• Ability to read construction drawings, diagrams, printed materials
• Possess at minimum of at least one year of driving experience with a valid U.S. driver’s license  

• Ability to perform physical activities required for the position (i.e., be on feet and walking 8-10 hours a day, safely work at heights) 
• Ability to understand and appreciate safety training specific to numerous workplace and construction hazards 
• Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolds, lifts and other access equipment
• Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs
• Ability to perform work in the outdoors
• Ability to wear safety equipment required for the position (hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection)
• Ability to safely work in a variety of occupationally hazardous locations
• Ability to type at a computer for several hours a day
• Ability to drive and safely operate a motor vehicle
