Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
This individual will support reliable operation of Industrial Electrical Equipment and Electrical Power Systems Analysis in company-owned and operated facilities in North America.

- Provide technical assistance to field personnel in the areas of high voltage distribution equipment and high voltage motors/generators
- Respond and provide technical assistance to electrical equipment problems within the company-owned facilities
- Direct and coordinate vendor shop repairs on high voltage motors and equipment for quality assurance
- Issue repair reports at the conclusion of critical jobs for accurate historical documentation
- Identify engineered solutions to recurring electrical issues
- Improve plant/equipment reliability through historical trending and improved maintenance procedures
- Lead and participate in root cause analysis (RCA)
- Implement equipment maintenance strategies (predictive and preventive)
- Ensure consistency to internal and national standards when specifying and maintaining equipment
- Review and approve engineering documents on plant upgrade projects
- Support training, coaching, and mentoring of electrical field technicians and operations staff in the preventative maintenance and operation of electrical distribution and control systems
- 100 % compliance with Safety and Environmental standards
- Perform Electrical engineering power systems analysis calculations including, Motor starting/voltage drop, short circuit, arc flash and load flow.
- Program protective relays with settings developed in systems analysis
Requirements
~2 min read- BS Electrical Engineering Degree
- Active PE license is preferred
- Six years of electrical engineering experience
- Experience in operations and maintenance of large industrial plants is required.
- Combinations of invent and operations experience will be considered
- Solid understanding of SKM Power Tools for Windows engineering software is preferred
- Experience in other software modeling packages such as ETAP will be considered
- Working knowledge of SEL and Multiline protective relays is preferred.
- Experience specifying and working on HV substation equipment, transformers, HV and LV motors and Generators, Motor control circuits, Variable frequency drives, Station Battery, and UPS systems
- Ability to travel in North America 15-20%
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship (e.g. temporary work visa or work permit). #LI-LA1
