Today, HyCO4 supplies hydrogen to multiple industrial customers through a dedicated pipeline network. Tomorrow, it will become one of Air Products' most advanced facilities in Europe through the integration of Carbon Capture technology and associated infrastructure.
This exciting expansion combines reliable hydrogen production with large-scale carbon capture, creating a unique opportunity for experienced operators to help drive the future of sustainable industrial operations. As an Senior Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of both the hydrogen production plant and the new carbon capture facilities.
Responsibilities
~1 min readAs an Operator Technician, you will be responsible for supporting daily operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities will include:

Contributing to Air Products' commitment to Zero Incidents by adhering to all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures.
- →
Monitoring and controlling hydrogen production and carbon capture processes in accordance with approved operating procedures.
- →
Identifying process deviations and making operational adjustments to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
- →
Performing routine plant inspections, operator rounds, and equipment condition monitoring activities.
- →
Supporting plant start-ups, shutdowns, and troubleshooting activities.
- →
Assisting with the integration and long-term operation of the HyCO4 Carbon Capture facility.

Reporting equipment defects and operational concerns through SAP and other management systems.

Supporting maintenance, turnaround, and project activities by safely preparing and executing work.

Issuing and reviewing permits-to-work, applying Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, and ensuring the safe execution of maintenance tasks.

Supporting operations at associated pipeline and satellite facilities when required.

Collaborating closely with operators, maintenance technicians, engineers, and project teams.

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, knowledge sharing, and the development of colleagues within the operations team.
We are seeking an experienced operations professional with a strong safety mindset and a passion for technical excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
MBO-4 qualification in a technical discipline or an equivalent technical background.
Minimum of 15 years of experience within a process manufacturing, energy, chemical, refinery, or industrial operating environment.
Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational discipline.
Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
Willingness to work in a continuous shift operation.
Flexibility to travel to associated operational locations when required.
Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office is considered an advantage.
Previous experience working within permit-to-work systems and maintenance support environments is preferred.
