Albemarle is hiring a Director, Corporate Strategy to own and drive the enterprise strategic planning process, develop growth and investment theses, lead portfolio reviews across our lithium and bromine businesses, and link long-range planning to annual operating plans. This role sits at the center of Albemarle's strategic decision-making architecture, translating market insight and executive direction into capital allocation choices and growth priorities. This position will be hybrid with an in-office presence Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.

Own the corporate strategy methodology: shape the growth investment thesis, strategic fit analysis of opportunity evaluation, target list governance, and weighting conventions

Lead the enterprise strategic planning process, including scenario planning, externality assessments, and strategy–LRP/AOP integration

Develop and maintain the investment thesis structure — market beliefs, value chain positioning, right-to-win analysis, strategic posture, and screening criteria

Conduct portfolio reviews across lithium and bromine businesses, evaluating growth trajectories, competitive positioning, and capital allocation trade-offs

Partner across the organization to build the unified corporate narrative

Collaborate with Investor Relations to ensure external messaging is coherent with internal strategy across Board, investor, and analyst audiences

Lead cross-functional strategic projects to enable new capabilities or address complex enterprise-level business questions

Prepare executive-quality strategy decks, board pre-reads, and pivot/exit narratives as needed

Support the VP in building and evolving the Strategy & EBD office's management operating system and governance cadence

A repeatable, thesis-driven planning process that connects market intelligence to investment priorities
Coherent strategic narrative across internal governance, Board communications, and external investor relations
Strengthened scenario planning capability that prepares Albemarle to navigate commodity cycles and geopolitical shifts
Strategic frameworks design and facilitation
Financial and business acumen — ability to translate complex data into strategic recommendations
Executive narrative and Board-quality communication
Portfolio analysis and capital allocation methodology
Scenario planning and externality assessment
Cross-functional influence and stakeholder management in a global matrixed organization
Associative thinking — connecting disparate market signals into coherent strategic positions
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
MBA or advanced degree preferred
5-10+ years of experience in strategy, business management, consulting, or corporate development
Demonstrated experience building strategic frameworks, investment theses, and long-range planning processes
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative inputs
Experience presenting to C-suite, Board of Direct
