Albemarle is hiring for a Pipe Welder. This position is located on-site in Magnolia, AR.

 

Responsibilities

  • →Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other plant-approved materials.
  • →Fabricate, install, modify, repair, and maintain piping systems, structural steel, vessels, and related equipment in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, drawings, and Albemarle engineering standards.
  • →Read, interpret, and work from P&IDs, blueprints, isometric drawings, and fabrication sketches to complete work accurately and efficiently.
  • →Create and modify isometric drawings and field sketches as needed to support fabrication and maintenance activities.
  • →Prepare materials for welding through cutting, grinding, beveling, fitting, and layout work.
  • →Operate cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • →Perform welds that meet quality standards and successfully pass required visual, X-ray, and other non-destructive examination (NDE) inspections.
  • →Conduct field inspections to identify maintenance needs, equipment deficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • →Participate in safety meetings, perform Job Safety Analyses (JSAs/LSAs), and consistently follow Albemarle safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • →Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and other team members to safely complete work and support plant reliability.
  • →Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while demonstrating a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent military/work experience.
  • Experience with industrial pipe welding, fabrication, or maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and isometric drawings.
  • Experience performing SMAW and GTAW welding on carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems.
  • Ability to fabricate, grind, bevel, and prepare pipe for welding and pass applicable welding qualification tests.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices in a chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
     

 It’d be great if you also have: 

  • Technical training, vocational certification, or welding certification from an accredited program.
  • 3-5+ years of industrial pipe welding experience in a chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with drawing and fabrication of lined, screwed, and welded piping systems.
  • Familiarity with Albemarle welding procedures, engineering standards, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Experience using cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and identify safety, quality, and cost improvement opportunities.
