  • Visualize, fulfil, and implement the company vision and core values.
  • Supervise a group of designers assigned to a specific location.
  • Coordinates workflow between sales, design and production in the assigned location.
  • Directs training and collaboration meetings with sales and design team
  • Focus on designers’ development
  • Collaborates with Design Manager on processes to ensure efficiency in work and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates processes, material inventory and truss plant specific needs with location manager.
  • Provides support on issues encounter on design, processes, customer service, software applications (Mitek Suite), and general technical support.
  • Gets involved with Management decision making and champions organizational change
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
  • Design roof and floor trusses using MiTek software and ensuring designs are accurate, optimized, and conforms to standards.
  • Generate and provide accurate pricing and material quantities for estimating purposes.
  • Generate truss placement layouts for final construction.
  • Reading and interpreting architectural and structural blueprints.
  • Communicate with customers, salesmen, architects, and engineers to ensure accuracy of design of trusses.
  • Handle complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to the manager.
  • Provide job-site support, with the aid of sales department, when requested.
  • Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
  • Experience mentoring team members.
  • Knowledge of floor and roof truss design process.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints.
  • Ability to calculate tributary loads, concentrated loads, and load transfer through a building.
  • Knowledge of current local codes associated with truss design.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrates high level of design capabilities and 3+ years experience in truss industry.
  • Experience using MiTek, Alpine, InteliBuild, or ITW software preferred.
