Since launching we have served hundreds of clients across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, in-network with Medicaid and major commercial plans in all three regions. 71% of clients report reduced depression (based on PHQ-9 scores) and 77% report reduced anxiety (based on GAD-7 scores) after 60 or more days of care.

Our care model uses gold standard approaches to address the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. Developed with leading clinical experts in trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+ care, it pairs affirming, evidence-based treatment with proprietary tools that extend care beyond the session. A stand out among them is our Trauma Journal, a structured Written Exposure Therapy-inspired tool that supports clients with trauma-related presenting concerns between visits and deepens the impact of their therapy work. This is what allows our clinicians to deliver the outcomes above, and it is a core part of what makes practicing at Allswell different.

As the first-ever Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Allswell, you'll shape how medication management integrates with our therapy model. You'll work alongside our therapists to deliver a truly integrative, holistic approach to care, combining prescribing with identity-affirming individual therapy and evidence-based trauma treatment. Our core offering centers on the LGBTQIA+ community, and your role will be to ensure medication management works hand-in-hand with therapy rather than in a silo.

This role has two phases. First, you'll build out the clinical protocols, SOPs, and workflows for medication management. Then, you'll put them into practice by providing medication management to our clients while continuously iterating and improving the model based on what you learn.

You will report to our Clinical Director and Medical Director to deliver affirming, trauma-informed care while building therapeutic rapport with clients. This is a fully remote, part-time role at 20 hours expected per week. We're flexible on W2 or 1099, and you pick your own schedule. You'll drastically improve the lives of your clients by providing expert clinical judgment, with support from the Allswell leadership team.

  Practice Building: Before seeing clients, you'll develop SOPs, clinical protocols, and workflows for medication management. This is an opportunity to build the prescribing side of our practice from scratch.

  Direct Client Care: Prescribe medications aligning with identity-affirming care for LGBTQIA+ clients.

  Assessment & Documentation: Conduct clinical assessments and maintain timely, HIPAA-compliant documentation in our EMR (Avon).

  Protocol Development: Work directly with clinical leadership to improve our clinical protocols and care model with insights from your work with clients.

  Client Education: Inform clients on the science, safety, and experience to set expectations and calm their worries about mental health care.

• Psychiatric Mental Health NP with ​​active DEA registration with full practice authority in Maryland.

• Experience and a strong passion for working with LGBTQIA+ clients.

• Sound knowledge and experience prescribing and adjusting medications across clinical indications, client demographics, and acuity levels.

• Cultural competence delivering affirming, identity-centered care.

• Comfortable working in a 100% remote, telehealth setting.

• Skilled in clinical assessment and timely, HIPAA-compliant documentation.

• Experience building out psychiatric SOPs from the ground up.

• A deep passion for expanding access to affirming, high-quality mental health care for the LGBTQIA+ community.

• Experience serving clients at the intersections of the LGBTQIA+ community, including BIPOC and neurodivergent clients.

• A telehealth startup background.

• Familiarity with how medications and psychotherapy work together.

• Comfort with outcomes-based, measurement-informed care.
