Senior Data Engineer

ACG_3367_JOB Our client is a leading financial services corporation, who is looking for a qualified candidate to join their firm. 1. Data Architecture & Infrastructure Design and implement robust data architecture solutions that support business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders in advancing enterprise analytics capabilities. Establish best practices and forward-looking strategies for scalable data infrastructure, leveraging emerging technologies to meet evolving analytical demands. Identify opportunities to optimize data management processes and address complex data ingestion and transformation challenges across the organization. Assess existing architectural frameworks and develop enhanced data solutions aligned with business objectives. Deliver data products and services into operational systems while ensuring compliance with internal governance and regulatory standards. Review internal and external business requirements related to data operations and recommend enhancements to systems and storage solutions to support long-term growth. 2. Data Integration & Pipeline Development Lead the acquisition and integration of structured and unstructured data from diverse internal and external sources into enterprise platforms and analytical environments. Collaborate closely with Data Scientists to understand modeling requirements and develop reusable, high-quality data assets that accelerate machine learning model development and deployment. Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT processes and optimized data pipelines to support advanced analytics and near real-time decision-making. Ensure data assets are structured, governed, and stored efficiently to maintain accuracy, reliability, flexibility, and performance. 3. Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement Manage technical challenges, shifting business requirements, and cross-functional coordination to ensure consistent system performance and project delivery. Resolve technical bottlenecks and operational issues through structured root cause analysis and post-implementation reviews. Partner with team leads to address resource or workflow constraints and continuously enhance engineering practices to maximize productivity. 4. Talent Development & Technical Mentorship Provide mentorship and coaching to junior data engineers, supporting their progression into fully proficient professionals. Identify opportunities to strengthen team capabilities and foster a culture of continuous technical improvement. Requirements Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or other numerically intensive disciplines. 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in developing, debugging, and implementing large-scale data solutions using big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Kafka, Arrow, and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau). Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, including SQL, NoSQL, and graph database technologies. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, Java, Rust, or Kotlin, with preference for functional or trait-oriented programming approaches. Strong background in designing dimensional data models, building and optimizing ETL processes, and applying data warehousing methodologies. Experience designing or closely collaborating on architectural frameworks for scalable data systems. Demonstrated expertise in monitoring complex distributed systems and applying systematic, algorithmic approaches to troubleshooting data and infrastructure issues. Solid understanding of information security principles to ensure compliant and secure data handling practices. Experience operating within Agile development environments, with strong knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum methodologies, and digital transformation initiatives. Capability to configure and maintain environments that support machine learning model development and experimentation. Experience designing and deploying high-performance microservices and/or recommendation systems serving large-scale user bases (including platforms supporting millions of users).
