The Opportunity
The Senior Account Specialist serves as the bank's subject leader in complex account ownership structures and account documentation. This position is responsible for creating documents related to new business and complex accounts. Additionally – they will assist establishing, reviewing, and maintaining business and specialized accounts for bank products.
The Senior Account Specialist works closely with retail, lending, compliance, and operations teams to ensure account relationships are established and maintained in accordance with bank policy, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This role provides guidance to frontline staff, resolves account exceptions, and helps deliver operational excellence for new accounts.

Complex Account Ownership Review
• Review documentation for business entities including LLCs, corporations, partnerships, nonprofits, and governmental entities and build compliance documents
• Review organizational documents, operating agreements, bylaws, resolutions, EIN documentation, and related records.
• Validate authority of signers, beneficial ownership information, and control persons.
• Serve as an internal resource for account titling and ownership questions and play a key role in new account opening
Account Administration
• Review trust certificates and supporting documentation for new and existing trust accounts within bank products
• Assist staff in establishing accounts for revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, living trusts, and other fiduciary account structures within bank products
• Assist with decedent accounts
Compliance & Risk Management
• Perform quality control reviews of new deposit accounts and account maintenance activities when needed
• Work with Compliance in executing the bank’s Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Beneficial Ownership, OFAC, and Bank Secrecy Act requirements.
• Monitor and resolve documentation deficiencies and account-opening exceptions.
• Recommend procedural improvements
Operations Support
• Research and resolve complex deposit and lending account issues.
• Assist with account restriction requests, garnishments, levies, subpoenas, court orders, and other legal process matters.
• Support deposit product administration and account maintenance activities.
• Partner with Digital Banking and New accounts on account-related issues.
Training & Leadership
• Serve as a resource and mentor to branch and operations personnel.
• Develop training materials and job aids related to business accounts, trusts, estates, and ownership structures.
• Provide ongoing coaching to frontline staff regarding account documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Promote consistency across all bank locations.
Quality Control & Process Improvement
• Track exception trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in developing policies, procedures, and workflow improvements.
• Participate in special projects related to deposit operations and customer experience.
Knowledge And Skills:
- Associate's degree preferred; equivalent banking experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of banking experience required.
- Demonstrated expertise in deposit account ownership, account documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with business entities, trusts, estates, and fiduciary accounts preferred.
- Experience in Deposit Operations, Compliance, New Accounts, or Retail Banking preferred.
- Strong understanding of deposit regulations and banking compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of CIP, CDD, Beneficial Ownership, BSA/AML, OFAC, and related regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret legal and organizational documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with core banking and deposit systems.
