Bus Driver (2025-26)

Ambition Preparatory Charter School is deeply committed to ensuring that every student in grades K-8 receives the high-quality education they deserve. We are a new college preparatory elementary and middle school serving the students of Jackson, MS.

  • →Transport students to and from school, field trips, sporting events, and other off-campus activities.
  • →Follow a planned route and schedule, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
  • →Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus.
  • →Ensure the safety of all students while on the bus.

  • →Assist students with getting on and off the bus, including those with disabilities.
  • →Verify permissions for students riding home with friends.
  • →Maintain discipline and a safe environment on the bus.
• →Vehicle Maintenance

  • →Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route.
  • →Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate authorities.

  • →Obey all traffic laws and regulations.
  • →Attend safety meetings and training as required.
  • →Maintain a professional demeanor and interact positively with students and parents

This job involves sitting for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing. Able to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to travel, enter, and exit a vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions. Random drug tests may be performed.

• Possess a current MS driver;'s license and Commercial Driver's License Class B with a school bus endorsement required
• You must meet specific physical, hearing, and vision requirements as outlined by the Mississippi Department of Education. This includes passing annual physical examinations required
• Be able to pass a background check required
• Successfully pass pre-employment drug testing and random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment required
• High School diploma or its equivalent required
