Payment Systems Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Payment Platforms Systems Engineer to join our team of core payment systems experts. In this role, you will be responsible for analysing existing payment processes, supporting, and implementing enhancements to our payment solutions and products.

This position offers exposure to the fintech industry and its products through close collaboration with Product Management, Business Stakeholders, Technical Teams, and external Vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the core payment system. Represent the system in discussions with various departments, ensuring business needs are understood, prioritised, and translated into system capabilities.
• Manage the core payment system by troubleshooting issues, adding new features, optimising existing services, and testing to ensure all requirements are met.
• Collaborate with internal developers, external vendors and IT teams to integrate systems via APIs and deliver seamless product implementation.
• Provide system related support to internal users and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system processes.
• Adhere to change management practices, ensuring that changes are carried out with minimal disruption to business operations.
  
  

Skillset and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a technical analyst, systems engineering, or other software related roles with involvement in various stages of software development lifecycle. This may include analysis, design, software development, QA, deployments and support.
• Technical expertise with exposure to API requests, XML, JSON, SQL, GIT, and Databases.
• Knowledge of Linux, NGINX and WildFly will be an advantage.
• Capable of analysing systems and logs to pinpoint issues, bottlenecks, or gaps.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience working in the financial services industry, card issuing or embedded finance sectors is considered an asset.
