This position sits within the Accounting Services Branch and is responsible for the preparation of departmental financial statements and related reports. You will play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance and delivering accurate financial data to internal and external stakeholders.

• →Preparation of annual financial statements and supporting documentation.
• →Oversight of financial reporting for grants and acquittals.
• →Journal preparation and general ledger maintenance.
• →Responding to audit queries and providing accounting advice.
• →Compliance with Treasurer’s Instructions and Australian Accounting Standards.
• →Analysis of financial data and preparation of monthly management reports.
• →Maintenance of the Financial Management Manual.
• →Participation in committee work and ad hoc duties as required.

• Significant experience in financial reporting and/or financial preparation.
• Sound knowledge of accounting concepts and Australian Accounting Standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
• Relevant tertiary qualification and CA ANZ or CPA Australia membership (or progress towards).
