Field Underwriter

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated entry level Underwriting professional to join our team. The position requires the person to:

• →Comprehend knowledge of our insurance products (coverages, rules, and rating) and book transfer procedures.
• →Regular travel throughout the assigned territory to call on agents to write and inspect business (as needed), prepare proposals, and coordinate policy insurance through our branch underwriting office.
• →Assist agents as needed with book transfer business.
• →Regular and predictable attendance in meeting a defined work schedule.
• →Make group presentations on Company products and services.
• →Assist with other duties in the department or elsewhere on request.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Appropriate underwriting experience is preferred
• Ability to organize data, multi-task and make decisions independently
• Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to resolve complex issues
• An interest in developing product knowledge through participation in approved educational programs
