Applied Research Solutions (ARS) is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Proposal Writer & AI Solutions Analyst to join our Growth Team. This pivotal role focuses on developing compliant and compelling proposal content, translating complex technical concepts, and strategically integrating AI capabilities into our proposal development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong research background, exceptional analytical and communication skills, and a proven ability to effectively engage with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in secure environments to extract and synthesize critical information.

Responsibilities

  • →Proposal Development & Technical Writing:
    • →Develop, write, and edit a broad range of documents, including proposals, technical narratives, management approaches, and solution descriptions, ensuring compliance with government solicitations and ARS quality standards.
    • →Conduct thorough research and analysis to understand complex technical requirements, synthesizing this information into clear, concise, and persuasive content.
    • →Translate intricate technical concepts into accessible and compelling language for diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and impact.
  • →SME Engagement & Information Synthesis:
    • →Proactively engage with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) through structured interviews and collaborative sessions. This includes developing relevant interview scripts, listening and asking strategic questions, and skillfully extracting needed information to define technical solutions and discriminators.
    • →Analyze and synthesize complex technical and operational details gathered from SME discussions, white papers, and other sources into structured content suitable for proposal development and AI ingestion.
    • →Coordinate and facilitate SME interviews, ensuring efficient information gathering that aligns with proposal requirements and deadlines, and preparing SMEs for effective participation.
  • →AI Integration & Content Optimization:
    • →Support the strategic integration of AI tools and large language models to enhance content generation, analysis, and alignment with proposal requirements.
    • →Assist in developing and managing prompt libraries and AI-driven workflows to optimize the efficiency, consistency, and analytical depth of proposal content.
    • →Document AI-related processes, guidance, and best practices to maximize team efficiency and content quality, particularly in how AI can ingest and process SME-derived information.
  • →Compliance & Quality Assurance:
    • →Oversee document quality, ensuring clarity, accuracy, consistency, and strict compliance with formatting and organizational standards.
    • →Develop and maintain reusable content repositories, templates, and reference libraries to support continuous improvement and faster response development.
    • →Support review cycles by preparing draft materials, integrating reviewer feedback, and ensuring cohesive, polished final deliverables.
  • →Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Eligible for TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a research-intensive discipline requiring strong analytical skills
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in technical writing, proposal writing, or solution-focused documentation within a structured, deadline-driven environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough research, analyze complex information from various sources, and synthesize it into clear, compelling narratives
  • Extensive experience interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), asking strategic questions, and effectively extracting essential information for documentation or proposal development
  • Familiarity with AI tools, large language models, or automated content workflows, and an understanding of their application in content generation, analysis, and information ingestion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel) and SharePoint
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous deadlines effectively
  • Experience with government contracting, capture, or proposal development and/or familiarity with DoD environments.
  • Background in solutions architecture, technical writing, and/or technical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating AI tools, knowledge management systems, or workflow enhancements.
  • Experience working in secure or classified environments.
