Applied Research Solutions is seeking a UI Tester to validate interface functionality, usability, and consistency while working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality user-facing features.

The UI Tester focuses on validating user interfaces across web and application environments to ensure functional correctness, usability, visual consistency, and alignment with UX expectations. This role collaborates with developers, UX designers, and automation engineers to identify front-end defects and support the quality of user-facing features.

Responsibilities include:

Execute manual UI testing across dev, QA, Ephemeral Cluster, and pre-production environments
Validate layout consistency, navigation flows, accessibility behaviors, and general usability
Document defects, results, and reproducible steps in GitLab
Review and collaborate on automated test suites built using VS Code, identifying UI gaps or needed enhancements
Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to testing strategy, readiness criteria, and user workflow validation
Support testing across AVD, LaunchPad 2.0, and other app-specific interfaces
Maintain clear UI test cases, workflows, and testing documentation in SharePoint
Work with developers and automation engineers to resolve UI and environment-specific issues
Support creation, organization, and maintenance of user guides, onboarding materials, and internal documentation across SharePoint and GitLab
Assist teams in gathering technical details and converting them into clear, user-friendly content aligned with Agile workflows
Help identify documentation gaps, ensure consistency, and contribute to ongoing content improvements
Other duties as assigned
Must be a US citizen
3+ years experience with performing manual UI or functional testing
Strong attention to detail and ability to spot usability or visual issues
Familiarity with GitLab for issue tracking and test documentation
Experience reviewing or collaborating on automated test suites (ideally with VS Code)
Understanding of Agile development workflows
Strong communication skills to work effectively with UX and engineering teams
Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree
