Sounds great – what’s the role in a nutshell?

The task of the Cruise Director is to communicate and delegate functions in order to ensure the service on board. Leadership is essential in order to exert a healthy influence on the personnel in charge. As a result, the ratings for the given service obtain high scores, evidenced in the comment cards. 



Your passion is:


      Strategic Leadership & Communication

      • Inter-Departmental Liaison: Facilitate seamless communication and information exchange between onshore offices and the vessel to ensure operational continuity.
      • Leadership & Management: Demonstrate effective leadership in managing personnel and establishing coordination among various department managers.
      • Voyage Planning: Collaborate closely with the Captain to plan and execute upcoming voyages.
      • Regulatory Compliance: Act as a key member of the management team to ensure strict adherence to international maritime safety regulations and onboard protocols.


      Financial & Administrative Oversight

      • Accounting & Payroll: Oversee all onboard accounting, including month-by-month payroll processing, budget tracking, and the management of vessel cash accounts.
      • Customs & Immigration: Coordinate with port agents and authorities to manage complex customs and immigration clearances for both crew and guests.
      • Crew Administration: Maintain accurate crew records, manage certifications/visas, and oversee the logistics of crew movements and rotations.
      • Financial Reporting: Prepare operational reports detailing incidents and take full responsibility for closing consumption records within the Point of Sale (POS) system.


      Guest Experience & Service Excellence

      • Onboarding & Briefings: Conduct comprehensive welcome briefings for passengers and new crew, and supervise guide program briefings to ensure effective communication.
      • Concierge & Billing: Support the interior department in delivering high-level concierge services while managing guest accounts and billing accuracy.
      • Hospitality Management: Greet guests after excursions and proactively inquire about specific requirements or preferences to enhance their stay.
      • Feedback Integration: Ensure comment cards are available and solicit direct feedback from guests to maintain high satisfaction levels.


      Food, Beverage & Boutique Operations

      • Service Supervision: Supervise dinner service and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless, high-quality food service operations.
      • Dietary Management: Maintain meticulous awareness of guests' dietary restrictions and preferences to ensure safety and satisfaction.
      • Procurement & Inventory: Assist with the procurement of provisions and supplies, ensuring all financial documentation and inventory records are meticulously maintained.
      • Retail Oversight: Oversee boutique operations, including the management of special offers and inventory.


      What are we looking for?

      • Technical or Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Hospitality or Tourism Management. 
      • 3 years of work experience in the luxury hospitality or cruise industry. 
      • Proven track record of leadership with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
      • English proficiency or native level, Spanish and French is a plus.
      • Proficient in computer skills and numeracy. 
      • Competence in swimming. 
      • You enjoy speaking and sharing your knowledge with customers.
      • Customer Service capabilities, able to deal with a variety of clients and strong multi-tasking skills.
      • Attention to detail and ability to plan ahead.
