Arconic is currently in search of an Industrialization Engineer to join our Kawneer Business in Norcross, GA.

At Arconic, we take pride in our work and our innovative products and technologies that advance sustainable solutions for a better world. We strive to create a safe, inclusive, and collaborative workplace with competitive benefits, development opportunities and a culture that values and rewards employees on all levels of the organization.

Job Summary:

The incumbent will act as a practical liaison between Product Design, Testing, and Operations (Manufacturing, Quality Teams), ensuring current product designs operate within existing manufacturing frameworks or that justified improvements are identified and executed. This person will serve as the manufacturing engineering representative within the NPD organization, accountable for manufacturing readiness from early concept through launch and production scale up. He/she will also translate product requirements and design intent into manufacturing requirements, process readiness plans, and execution actions that deliver safe, capable, and repeatable production at launch and at rate. This person will drive disciplined execution through the product development Stage & Gate process, ensuring manufacturing deliverables, evidence, and risks are identified, managed, and communicated at each gate.

In this role, you will:

  • Manufacturing Readiness & NPI Execution:

    • Define and own manufacturing deliverables by development phase, including readiness plans, industrialization timelines, and launch criteria.

    • Prepare and present manufacturing readiness status, risks, and mitigation actions, Stage & Gate milestones and program reviews.

    • Partner with Product Design & Engineering along with the Technical Centre to apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles and ensure manufacturability is addressed early and continuously.

  • Process Definition, Standard Work & Change Control:

    • Develop, review, or improve manufacturing documentation required for launch (process flows, work instructions, training requirements, quality controls).

    • Support and coordinate Engineering Change and change management activities, ensuring manufacturing impacts are assessed, documented, and implemented without disrupting launch commitments.

    • Identify gaps in current practices and help establish repeatable, standardized NPI manufacturing processes.

  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) / Production Part Approval PRocess (PPAP) & Capability Validation:

    • Lead or support APQP aligned deliverables (process flow, PFMEA input/support, control plan inputs, training plans, readiness evidence).

    • Coordinate process capability validation at production rates; support data driven resolution of variation or tolerance risks affecting launch timing or quality.

    • Partner with Product Testing and Engineering to align verification, validation, and production readiness activities.

  • Scale Up & Capital Improvement Support:

    • Identify manufacturing process or equipment gaps required to achieve launch volumes and sustained production rates.

    • Support development of capital justification inputs and coordinate execution of approved improvements with Operations and process owners.

    • Ensure new or modified processes are safely implemented, documented, and supported through ramp up.

  • Cross Functional & Supplier Interface:

    • Act as a day to day liaison between NPD, Manufacturing, Testing, and Supply Chain where manufacturability or readiness risks exist.

    • Support manufacturability feedback loops with suppliers and internal stakeholders to mitigate quality, availability, or scale up risks.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the NPI process, leveraging data analytics, feedback mechanisms, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

    • Design of Experiment (DOE) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) driven on manufacturing variations to product design to drive execution of on time product launches within manufacturing

Also note:

  • Strong foundation in manufacturing engineering and industrialization, including process definition, standard work, training readiness, and ramp up support.

  • Working knowledge of Stage & Gate product development, NPI execution, and cross functional project delivery.

  • Demonstrated application of DFM principles, engineering documentation practices, and structured change control.

  • Experience applying Lean and Six Sigma principles (e.g., standard work, variation reduction, data‑driven problem solving) within NPI or manufacturing readiness environments

  • Familiarity with APQP / PPAP concepts or equivalent evidence based manufacturing readiness methods.

  • Analytical and problem solving capability, with a data driven approach to variation reduction and capability assessment.

  • Strong organization, planning, and communication skills; ability to influence outcomes in a matrixed environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Up to 25% travel required

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, process engineering, or NPI within a product development and manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working in matrixed, cross functional project teams delivering structured outcomes.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of MS Project or similar tools

  • Possess working knowledge of fenestration product manufacturing systems and processes desirable.
