As a Material Coordinator, you ensure the textile team runs smoothly by serving as highly organized support to all team members in administrative tasks, that bridge the material developers’ work to the cross functional business needs.  You will have the opportunity to learn alongside our team and our industry partners to aid in commercializing best in class materials that significantly impact the success of our product. 

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Raw Materials Development Team commercializes seasonal performance textiles and trims that exceeds the industry standard. We create toolbox palettes for each product category, made of innovative materials that can ultimately become brand icons for many years to come. Our success comes from our knowledge, our standards of excellence and delivering on-time material solutions, alongside our supply chain partners.

  • Ensuring data integrity across all systems including Centric PLM, material trackers, and libraries
  • Preparing seasonal material validation tech packs for handoff to Quality team ensuring calendar deadlines are met
  • Scheduling cross functional and supplier meetings
  • Supporting with internal or external testing and evaluating textiles using Arc'teryx custom and industry standard lab testing, including assisting with management of any fabric-specific end use field testing programs
  • Overhauling historical data in the Product Line Management system (Centric) to current and accurate fabric specs, test reports, NMF and status for material and trim developments
  • Preparing digital and physical material boards for seasonal stage gate reviews
  • Coordinating reporting and metrics for the RMD manager
  • Maintaining lab equipment maintenance schedules
  • Developing Design facing seasonal material briefs
  • Effectively contributing to cross functional discussions with designers, merchants and suppliers to make the best decisions for the brand
  • Developing a holistic knowledge of our product categories to apply material solutions across categories
  • You have 1+ years of apparel/equipment industry experience related to trims and/or materials
  • You have a degree or diploma in Materials Science, Textile Technology, Product or Textile Design or equivalent industry experience
  • You have a passion for data engineering and organization
  • You have developed skills in digital data programs such as Microsoft Excel and cloud-based information
  • You have an interest and general understanding of textile manufacturing
  • You have strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks within tight deadlines
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and PLM systems
  • You have the physical ability to handle small boxes and rolls of fabric, etc.
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
  • The salary range for this role is CAD$62,000 - CAD$81,000
