Quick Summary
pay-ins, payouts, settlements, reconciliation, refunds, disputes/chargebacks, KYC/RFI, partner escalations, and incide
People on the move deserve a bank that moves with them. Since 2022, Aspora has been building a borderless financial operating system that makes money as mobile and transparent as its users.
Backed by influential venture capitalists like Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners, Hummingbird Ventures, Y Combinator & Global Founders Capital. We're a team of 150+ across India, the UK, the UAE, EU and the US, working with extreme ownership, radical candour, and an obsession with customer impact.
We celebrate builders who question assumptions, ship fast, and turn regulatory complexity into elegant solutions. If you’re driven to redefine what global banking can be, we’d love to build the future with you.
Aspora's Remittances business is scaling across corridors, partners, and payment rails, and we are building the operating system for that scale with an AI-first mindset. We are looking for an L2 Operations Generalist who can work close to live payment operations: monitoring flows, investigating exceptions, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and improving the workflows that keep customer money moving reliably.
This is not a passive queue-processing role. You will work across payment operations, partner operations, reconciliations, compliance operations, customer-impacting escalations, and data analysis. The right person brings fintech ops experience, comfort with SQL and dashboards, and the curiosity to use AI, automation, and structured data to make repeat work easier and more reliable.
Run and monitor defined remittance operations workflows across pay-in, payout, KYC/RFI, refunds, disputes, reconciliations, and partner-dependent exceptions.
Use dashboards, SQL, and transaction-level data to investigate anomalies, prepare issue notes, identify likely root causes, and escalate with context.
Coordinate with banks, payment providers, gateways, Support, Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Finance on defined escalation paths and issue resolution.
Maintain and improve runbooks, queue hygiene, exception categories, controls, and operating notes by corridor, partner, and workflow.
Identify recurring manual checks or repeat exceptions and help convert them into AI-assisted triage, automation, better monitoring, or product/partner requirements.
Support new corridor, rail, partner, and workflow launches by testing operational readiness, monitoring early issues, and documenting learnings.
Requirements
~1 min read2-5 years of experience in fintech, payments, banking operations, wallet operations, marketplace-fintech operations, or another transaction-heavy operating environment.
Working knowledge of payment operations: pay-ins, payouts, settlements, reconciliation, refunds, disputes/chargebacks, KYC/RFI, partner escalations, and incident handling. Cross-border payments experience is a plus.
SQL is required: you should be able to query transaction-level data, validate dashboard signals, investigate operational issues, and explain what the data is showing.
Comfort working with dashboards, spreadsheets, queues, logs, SOPs, and issue trackers to keep operational work visible and controlled.
Experience coordinating with internal teams and external partners, with the communication discipline to follow up clearly and keep issue notes clean.
Strong plus: experience using AI tools, no-code/low-code automation, or lightweight scripts to reduce manual checks, improve exception handling, or make operational workflows more scalable.
A hands-on, AI-curious operator-builder: you are willing to run the workflow today and interested in making it cleaner, faster, or more automated tomorrow.
Detail-oriented and reliable when customer money movement, partner reliability, or SLA/TAT is involved.
Analytical and curious; you prefer checking dashboards, data, and transaction records over relying on guesses.
Organized under pressure, with clear communication and strong follow-through across multiple open issues.
Practical about controls and compliance; you understand that accuracy, auditability, and customer trust matter as much as speed.
Hungry to grow into an independent operations owner who can eventually take on broader workflows, partners, or corridors.
Wants a narrow process-execution role with predefined queues and limited problem-solving.
Is uncomfortable using SQL, dashboards, and raw operational data to investigate issues.
Escalates issues without clear context, follow-through, or ownership of closure.
Solves issues manually without documenting learnings or asking whether the next occurrence can be prevented, automated, or monitored.
Prefers strategy decks over being close to live customer-impacting payment operations.
