A Keyholder/Closing Manager is an essential part of the store leadership team, responsible for assisting with daily operations, managing opening and closing procedures, and stepping in as the acting leader when a manager is unavailable. They ensure the store runs efficiently by supervising team members, addressing customer needs, and resolving any issues that arise. Additionally, they help maintain a positive work environment, uphold store policies, and contribute to achieving sales and operational goals, all while delivering exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of all products to effectively assist customers and support operational excellence.
- →Master all closing duties as defined and adapted from time to time as needed by the Store Director.
- →Learn the front-end processes and ensure the front end operates efficiently during your shifts as the opening or closing supervisor.
- →Learn and become an expert in all grocery equipment, hardware, software, and tasks.
- →Observe temperatures of coolers, cases, and freezers and report failures to management promptly.
- →Ensure equipment is working correctly, including safety features, and report safety hazards immediately.
- →Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and welcoming to create a positive shopping experience for customers.
- →Ensure when closing, all perimeter departments are maintained in good shape: milk and eggs remain well stocked throughout the entire shift, Produce, Meat, and store sale items are stocked
- →Ensure floors are thoroughly swept and mopped to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- →Provide support to departments in completing end-of-shift closing procedures as needed.
- →Stock inventory from back stock as instructed, ensuring proper placement and organization.
- →Maintain a clean and organized backroom environment throughout the shift.
- →Ensure all cooler and freezer doors are closed, all case lights turned off, and curtains closed.
- →Secure store doors and windows before exiting the building. Turning off non-essential lighting and setting the alarm.
- →Comply with established procedures, practices, sales, safety, and security according to A.G. Supermarkets, Inc. policies
- →Communicate essential information to the Store Director consistently.
- →Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
~1 min read- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Basic computer knowledge to operate store systems, process transactions, and manage reports.
- Ability to lead store operations during closing shifts, ensuring tasks are completed and store standards are maintained.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependability and leadership qualities to support team members and ensure smooth store operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, employees, and management.
- Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service through prompt issue resolution and customer focused approach.
Requirements
~1 min read- Frequent lifting, pushing, carrying, and pulling of weights between 20-40lbs, with occasional lifting over 40lbs.
- Standing for extended periods of time (90% of the time) and walking (10%).
- Frequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching above and below waist level.
- Working in various temperature-controlled environments, including:
- Freezers (extreme cold)
- Areas near ovens (extreme heat)
- Receiving areas with occasional humidity or wet flooring
- Outside temperatures (2% of the time)
- Hard tile/cement flooring with anti- fatigue mats available
- Required: Slip resistant footwear, various cleaning supplies, cutting gloves, and any other items necessary to support total store needs.
- Machines, Tools, and Equipment used: Baler, Pallet Jack and Box Cutters and other machinery, tools, and equipment used within the store location to support business needs.
