## About the role
Please note: This is a temporary 12 month term opportunity, with potential for extension.
This position is a full time role, and has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means 1-2 day(s) on-site per week in the Calgary office. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.
As ATB’s next Sr. Manager, Operational Risk, you will provide enterprise-level support, leadership, and governance of Operational Risk programs across the organization. You will play a pivotal role in the implementation of program enhancements, ensuring that resilience, continuity, and operational risk practices are strategically embedded across all business units.
As a trusted advisor, you will partner with senior leaders to align resilience with corporate strategy while ensuring strict compliance with ATB’s risk frameworks, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
## Accountabilities
Change Management:
* Accountable for the ownership and execution of the Operational Risk Assessment (NIRAP) program, ensuring accurate execution of the program, and timely capture and mitigation of risks and controls; and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent risks from materializing.
* Ensure clear and up-to-date program guidance is consistently available and accessible; and develop & execution of education and awareness programs to ensure the guidance is operationalized effectively.
* Development of aggregated reporting to meet E21 change management guidelines, and support the enterprise view of change risk.
* Provide robust challenge and oversight accountabilities on all Change management Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), and ensure the timely transition of risks into the business unit’s annual RCSA program post go live
* Own and execute the annual report on NIRAP effectiveness, including the ongoing monitoring and remediation of previously identified issues and gaps
Operational Resilience: Support the execution of ATB’s Critical Operations mapping, focusing on areas where critical dependencies may require risk governance and oversight; including the development of change management proactive focus to ensure resilience. This role will also work with partners across the organization to ensure existing change governance practices are aligned with E21 guidelines, and establish or recommend changes to existing programs to support a clear and consistent mandate
Technology & Tool Sets
* GRC System Transformation (MetricStream M10): This role will work closely with the ORM technical SME, and take a role in the testing, training, and implementation of MetricStream M10. This includes ensuring the platform is configured to meet ATB’s unique risk appetite, overseeing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and developing training materials to ensure enterprise-wide adoption.
* Dashboarding: Support the development of change management dashboards to ensure accurate and timely reporting
* Online Change Management Risk Assessment: Support the development of new tools and technologies to advance the Change Management Governance program in its migration away from spreadsheets and into integrated technology platforms. Responsible for the collaboration & coordination across the three LOD to align on future capabilities for the web version of the risk assessment program, and delivery of an online capability
Risk Governance & Advisory
* Strategic Integration: Support the Operational risk and resilience programs through ensuring integration program, streamlining how risk program or regulatory requirements and operational controls overlap to create a unified risk posture. This includes support, oversight and execution & ongoing development and maturity of all operational risk framework and programs within ATB.
* Drive the development and implementation of changes to ATB’s operational risk management programs, establishing alignment to OSFI guidelines, and ensuring education strategies align with adoption principals
* Distill issues, incidents, and findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership, balancing risk management with strategic objectives.
* Support executive and committee level reporting, ensuring timely escalation of issues, and clear articulation of risk profiles on an ongoing basis

* Partner with business and technology leaders to embed risk and resilience thinking into mid-term and long-term strategy and planning.
* Build and maintain strong relationships across ATB to drive understanding and compliance with resilience and operational risk requirements.
* Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders executives on risk trade-offs, resilience strategies, and regulatory compliance.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Leadership
* Stay current on OSFI, BCBS, and industry best practices related to operational resilience, continuity, loss management, and risk management.
* Source and engage in external training and seminars to maintain an advanced understanding of operational risk assessment techniques, tools, and regulations.
* Act as a mentor and resource within the Operational Risk Management team, fielding questions and supporting capability development.

## Accreditation
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or other related field.
* Advanced knowledge and experience in operational risk management, operational resilience, and business continuity leadership.
* Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide risk and resilience programs and engage senior leaders with influence and credibility.
