Assemble mechanical devices and equipment.
Responsibilities
~3 min readRead and understand work orders, follow production drawing, and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets
Assemble and attach hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
Operate machines that press, mark, cut, and drill component parts
Adjust or trim material from parts to achieve specified dimensional characteristics
Assist in problem solving regarding component installation and/or discrepant materials.
Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products.
Mentor other Mechanical Assemblers on tasks they have been assigned.
Temporary assignment to various Atec facilities may be required as needed to support Atec operations.
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization
(AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES
Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
Cooperate with Auditors.
Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED, or three (3) years of experience and/or training, or five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
Positive Performance Review (applies to internal personnel changes for current Atec, Inc. & subsidiary location employees).
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings for manufacturing.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and occasionally lift
up to 25 pounds.
Good eyesight; by lenses if necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Extended work hours and travel may occasionally be required.
