Job Description

• Travel to project sites daily in a company-provided vehicle.
• Perform a variety of field survey activities including: Topographic surveys, Construction staking/layout, Boundary and as-built surveys, Leveling and traversing, Profile and cross-section surveys.
• Set up, operate, and maintain Trimble survey equipment including GPS units, total stations, and data collectors.
• Measure and document distances, elevations, angles, and utility locations with precision and attention to detail.
• Establish and verify vertical and horizontal control points.
• Collect utility data including curb and gutter, storm drain, paving, water, and sewer infrastructure.
• Review field calculations and make adjustments as needed to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare organized field notes and assist with as-built documentation.
• Read and interpret engineering and construction plans.
• Maintain company-issued vehicles, laptops, and survey equipment in excellent condition.
• Follow Atwell’s safety standards and best practices at all times.
• Work independently as a one-person crew or collaboratively with team members depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Previous outdoor work experience preferred.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in varying weather and field conditions.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work with contractors, inspectors, and project teams.
• Experience with Trimble survey equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Willingness and availability to travel as needed.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred.
