Job Summary

Austral Education Group, a global experiential learning company, is seeking an International Accounting Analyst to support accounting, project financial control, and operational finance processes across multiple regions.

This role will also support the operations and development of Austral Education Group Ireland Limited, the company's newly incorporated Irish entity.

The position offers a unique career growth opportunity with broad international exposure and visibility across the organization. The selected candidate will work closely with global operational and finance teams, contributing to the development of international finance processes, project accounting controls, and operational improvements in a dynamic multinational environment.

The role reports directly to the Group Accounting Manager and provides exposure to international operations across multiple markets.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment, and interested in leveraging technology and AI-driven tools to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Manage vendor invoice processing, payment requests, and expense reviews.
  • Perform reconciliations of accounts payable, accruals, prepayments, intercompany balances, taxes, and project-related accounts.
  • Support monthly accounting close activities and preparation of financial information.
  • Assist with statutory accounting and local tax compliance processes.

Project Accounting & Financial Analysis

  • Ensure accurate accounting of revenues, costs, deferred revenue, and project transactions.
  • Analyze actual results versus budgets and identify operational and financial variances.
  • Support profitability and operational efficiency analysis for international programs.

International Operations

  • Work in a multi-currency environment supporting operations across the United States, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional international teams and stakeholders.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Support process optimization and automation initiatives.
  • Utilize accounting systems, spreadsheets, and AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency and reporting.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is considered a strong advantage.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, or multinational operations.
  • Experience in project-based, international, or multi-entity environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP is highly valued.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, with a focus on process improvement and data analysis.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar ERP/accounting systems.
  • Interest in leveraging AI and automation tools (such as Gemini, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies) to improve operational efficiency and reporting processes.
