Software Engineer Supervisor

  The Software Engineer Supervisor role will own the software and programming solutions that are developed for FORTÉ System’s customers. Utilizing control system and software engineering industry best practices, this role will develop and maintain a superb customer experience to both FORTÉ Systems branches and FORTÉ Systems customers. This supervisor will lead and inspire control system programmers and software engineers in developing high-quality solutions that always meet the objectives of FORTÉ Systems customers   QUALIFICATIONS: Strong knowledge of programming languages such as HTML 5, Python, Java, or C(x) languages, and experience with software development methodologies. Strong knowledge of AV control systems programming including: Crestron, Q-Sys, Extron, etc. 1-3 years of experience developing AV related code. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required or relevant industry certification and industry experience. A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or other project management and technical certifications are a plus. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively. Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve technical challenges. Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Core Responsibilities Systems programming services performed are completed timely and consistently meet system design specifications, and functional and operational requirements. Develop new code relevant to project needs. Assist with backend programming to link the content to various forms of data (HTML 5, C(x), JavaScript, Python, Visual Basic Script, and TypeScript), working to a critical path and ensuring all products are produced on schedule. Development and maintenance of software storage for the purpose of organizing and maintaining a library to simplify the finding and usage of code to be used in projects. Establish and maintain standards for programming to permit different Control System Programmers, Software Engineers and Field Engineers to adjust, update and change code consistently while still allowing a level of originality in development. Maintain a minimum 75% chargeability of supervised employee team Oversee the Control System Programmers and Software Engineer’s daily duties. Planning, assigning, and directing work; by working with AV Project Managers, determine the correct skillset and workload capable of delivering projects in a timely manner.
