As Senior Director of Commercial Operations, Quoting, you will lead and optimize Axon’s domestic quoting function, owning the quote creation lifecycle. You’ll be a critical partner to Sales, Finance, Legal, and IT — delivering pricing accuracy, process rigor, and an exceptional customer experience at every stage.
Your team is organized to support Axon’s specific sales end markets, ensuring deep knowledge of the unique requirements each customer segment demands. You will lead policy development, process design, and change management as Axon modernizes its systems and technology across the commercial operations stack.
- Elevate the Sales Experience: Simplify and streamline how Sales engages with quoting operations. Create clear ownership models, defined engagement channels, and consistent handoffs so cross-functional partners can participate in the deal cycle efficiently and effectively.
- Serve as Trusted Commercial Partner: Be one of the primary operational partners to Sales, delivering high-quality, customer-facing quotations that support timely deal execution. Coordinate with subject matter experts across functions to accelerate deal closure and improve customer outcomes.
- Drive Deal Accuracy and Velocity: Work closely with Pricing, IT, and go-to-market teams to ensure business objectives are executed with precision. By specializing teams around specific end-market requirements, increase both the accuracy and speed of quotes delivered.
Responsibilities

- Oversee quoting operations, ensuring quotes are accurate, compliant with Axon’s pricing standards, and aligned with revenue recognition requirements.
- Define and monitor quoting SLAs to drive turnaround times, deal velocity, and approval workflow efficiency.
- Conduct regular quality reviews to sustain high standards of accuracy and customer experience.

- Support customer data accuracy, process transparency, and operational efficiency throughout the commercial lifecycle.
- Own core operational metrics including SLA adherence and approval cycle times, driving continuous improvement through data-backed insights.

- Collaborate with Global Process and IT teams to deliver system enhancements that improve accuracy, scalability, and visibility across the quote-to-cash workflow.
- Champion automation and AI-enabled standardization initiatives to reduce manual effort and increase throughput.

- Manage and mentor a team of approximately 20 quoting professionals aligned to Axon’s domestic sales end markets.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement that reflects Axon’s mission and values.

- Establish performance dashboards for key metrics, including quoting accuracy, deal approval cycle times, and SLA adherence.
- Partner with executive stakeholders to translate operational data into actionable insights that drive forecasting accuracy and strategic decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in pricing, quoting, revenue operations, or commercial finance.
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role with a demonstrated track record of driving cross-functional initiatives.
- Deep expertise in pricing strategy, CPQ platforms, and SKU/portfolio management.
- Proven success leading SKU simplification or product rationalization programs at scale.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to model pricing scenarios and quantify business impact.
- Background in industries with high SKU complexity such as manufacturing, industrial technology, or B2B distribution.
- Executive presence and the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across Sales, Product, and Finance without direct authority.
- Strong people leadership with a track record of building, coaching, and retaining high-performing teams.
- Exceptional change management skills — able to lead rationalization efforts and build organizational buy-in.
- Data-driven decision-making with strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complexity, both in product structure and process design.
- Proven success in process transformation and automation initiatives.
- Strong business partnership mindset, with a genuine commitment to putting customers’ needs first.
- Excellent collaboration skills with Sales and go-to-market functions.
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience leading a large team, including a shared services function, within the Quote-to-Cash cycle at a publicly traded company.
- Deep expertise in SaaS or subscription-based commercial models; hardware experience is a plus.
- Experience with government contracting, partner ecosystems, and distributor relationships.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606).
- Proven track record of measurably improving quote-to-cash cycle times and deal velocity metrics
