Baxter & Woodman, Inc. is currently seeking a Construction Inspector I to join the team supporting the City of Houston Public Works – Wastewater Operations Division. This on-site role involves delivering engineering services for a variety of municipal projects, offering direct collaboration with the City of Houston. The ideal candidate will bring experience in field observation, construction management, utilities inspection, and public works operations. Responsibilities include conducting on-site inspections for projects such as storm and sanitary systems, lift stations, wastewater treatment plants, water mains, pumping and booster stations, water distribution networks, and related pipelines and structures.

• →Provide and/or assist in on-site inspections of water and wastewater utilities to the City of Houston.
• →Consults with Project Engineers, resident project representatives and contractor’s superintendents on work progress and construction problems; reviews equipment utilization data and time/cost estimates.
• →Manhole and sanitary sewer inspections.
• →Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and testing, as needed.
• →Observe, measure, and document construction activities.
• →Address resident concerns.
• →Other duties as needed or assigned.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

• →Effective communication, both oral and written, with residents, businesses, and public agencies.
• →Ability to travel throughout the Houston area (own transportation).
• →Work in a team environment.
• →Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

• May require on work weekends and holidays as necessary.
• Required to work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment provided by employer and comply with all safety requirements.
