Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Technician in our Bannockburn, or Crysal Lake, IL office. The Technician will support the firm’s construction group on a variety of projects ranging from roadways to underground utility installations. Additionally, this position will assist with the planning, design, and construction of a variety of facilities. This position will also offer the opportunity to work directly with firm clients.

• →Quantity Computation.
• →Construction Layout/Survey.
• →Observe, measure and document construction activities.
• →Produce and edit engineering plans using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• →Prepare CAD plan sheet drawings.
• →Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks required during project delivery.
• →General civil engineering and client service.

• Associate's degree in Structural/Architecture and/or Construction Management Technology desired or related field experience.

• →2+ years of experience working as a Construction Inspector or Technician on construction projects.
• →Effective communication, both oral and written, with residents, businesses and public agencies.
• →Ability to travel throughout the northern Chicagoland area (own transportation).
• →Work in a team environment.
• →Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
