Join us as an Engineering Team Lead supporting the Care Communications Management System (CCMS).
CCMS is one of BCBST’s most critical platforms, powering member and provider outreach across text, email, phone, and fax. In this hands‑on leadership role, you will lead an Agile engineering team, provide technical direction, and collaborate closely with business and technology partners to evolve and modernize a mission‑critical communications platform that directly supports member engagement.
- Experience leading Agile development teams and mentoring engineers
- Strong skills in .NET, SQL, and JavaScript
- Comfort owning delivery for a high‑visibility, enterprise application
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across stakeholders
Nice to Have

- This is a fully remote role; however, onsite interviews at our Chattanooga, TN headquarters are required.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Manages the day-to-day operations of a team with a focus on the maintenance and development of systems and supervising system modifications.
- →Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work. Provides staff management oversight including hiring, promoting, or making recommendations for staff. Conducts performance reviews and assessments, manages performance, engages in skills assessment, and promotes professional development of staff.
- →Directs, motivates, and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth, and ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
- →Ensures adherence to policies, plans, objectives, budgets and staffing allocations.
- →Manages and tracks team-level project details and serves as the technical subject matter expert and provides leadership during periods of transition.
- →Employees may be required to participate in a weekly on-call rotation.
Requirements

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience
- 5 year - Experience with information technology concepts, application development and/or enterprise system maintenance methodology, terminology, and standards required
- 5 years – Systems maintenance and/or programming experience required
- 3 year - Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language and/or one enterprise system in use at BCBST
Skills\Certifications
- Knowledge of information technology concepts, methodology, terminology, and standards.
- Proven Skill to develop and/or maintain an enterprise IT system
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in one or more enterprise IT systems
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Microsoft Office and email skills are required
- Adaptive to high pace and changing environment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers.
- Must be willing to adjust schedule to plan and perform maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours and be part of an on-call rotation.
