Whether you've supported a loved one or simply enjoy helping others, you already have the foundations to become a great Care Assistant.

At Be Caring, we believe great care starts with great people. If you're kind, reliable and want to make a real difference in people's lives, we'd love to welcome you to our team at Village 135 - a purpose-built extra care scheme in the heart of Wythenshawe.

No sponsorship available.

Village 135 is an extra care scheme where older people live independently in their own flats - with the reassurance of a care team on-site around the clock.

As a night shift Care Assistant, you'll be based entirely on-site. There's no travelling between calls - just one building, a consistent group of people you'll get to know well, and the satisfaction of knowing they're safe because you're there.

  • £13.45 per hour
  • Night shift: 9:00pm – 8:00am
  • 3–4 days per week

Responsibilities

Extra care is different from traditional homecare. The people you support live in their own homes within the scheme, and your role overnight is to be there when they need you - providing planned care, responding to calls, and making sure everyone feels safe and settled through the night.

You will:

  • Provide dignified personal care that respects privacy and choice
  • Respond promptly and calmly to care calls throughout the night
  • Promote independence and confidence through enabling approaches
  • Deliver personalised support based on individual needs, choices and preferences
  • Communicate clearly, recording and sharing information with the right people at the right time
  • Support people to feel safe, comfortable and well in their own homes overnight

You'll receive comprehensive paid induction training, including:

  • Be Caring values and going Above & Beyond to meet personal outcomes
  • Dignity and respect, safeguarding, and equality and diversity
  • Confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Fluids and nutrition and safe administration of medication
  • Moving and positioning, basic life support, and pressure sores (React to Red)
  • Infection prevention and control, health and safety
  • Learning Disabilities (Oliver McGowan Tier 1), mental health and capacity

Be Caring is the UK's largest employee-owned social care provider. When you join us, you're not just "staff" - you become part of a values-led organisation built on Be Kind, Be Proud, Be the Best You Can Be, Be Safe, Be Happy and Be Involved.

We focus on kindness, respect and inclusion, and we're as committed to supporting our colleagues as we are to supporting the people we care for. You can expect stable employment, fair pay and genuine opportunities to progress as you grow with us.
