What We Offer
~1 min read✓Want to work in fast-paced start-up environment, prioritizing growth over short-term gains
✓Like to work independently, as well as collaboratively with team members in other sub-teams
✓Have a positive learning mindset, and can quickly absorb knowledge to overcome challenges
✓Can assess risk and make time-critical decisions/tradeoffs in imperfect scenarios
As QC Technician, you will be the hands-on checkpoint that keeps defects out of our HAUVs. Our vehicles work in high-pressure saltwater, where a bad crimp, a loose fastener, or a damaged seal can end a mission. You will inspect incoming parts, check builds at key stages, and make sure every subassembly meets our workmanship standards before it moves on. You will work closely with the QA Engineer, manufacturing, and procurement teams.
- Inspect incoming HAUV components against drawings and specifications, including machined fittings, 3D-printed parts, PCBs, subsea connectors, seals, O-rings, and fasteners.
- Measure dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and other tools.
- Record inspection results, label accepted and rejected parts, and flag non-conforming items.
- Inspect wiring harnesses, crimps, solder joints, and connector terminations against workmanship standards.
- Check assembly steps such as fastener torque, seal and O-ring installation, and pressure hull assembly.
- Carry out final visual and documentation checks on subassemblies and completed vehicles before handover to testing.
- Complete inspection checklists, build records, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) accurately.
- Keep traceability records for critical parts, batches, and serialised vehicle builds.
- Maintain the quarantine area and follow up on the disposition of rejected parts.
- Keep inspection tools organised and within calibration.
- Report recurring defects and suggest improvements to inspection methods or work instructions.
- Support the QA Engineer during internal audits, supplier issues, and root cause investigations.
